Malta Currency
Since Malta joined the European Union in 2004, the national currency of Malta is the Euro.
You can change money at banks, some of the hotels, exchange bureaux and even at bigger restaurants and shops. In some of the places on the island, you can find machines that allow automated currency exchange.
As for credit and debit cards, you can use MasterCard, American Express, Visa and Diners Club. ATM's can be found easily in Malta. The same goes for traveller's cheques.
Banks are usually open between 08:30 and 12:30 during the week and from 8:30 to 11:30 on Saturday.
